What Preachly.io Is
Preachly.io is the church engagement platform that helps churches put everything from a service — sermon slides, worship songs, scripture, notes, announcements, and resources — behind one simple, shareable link their congregation opens on their phone.
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users (church administrators and staff) and the audiences who view church content through Preachly.io.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you create a Preachly.io account, we collect your email address and any profile information you provide.
Church content: We store the content you upload — slide images, song lists, links, notes, and event details — to power your public Preachly.io pages.
Engagement data: When someone views a church's Preachly.io page, we record engagement — such as page views, which links or actions are tapped, scripture and notes activity, and how a returning visitor's engagement builds over time. No account or login is ever required. To recognize a returning visitor across visits, we store a random identifier on their device; on its own it contains no name or contact details. If a visitor later chooses to give the church their information (for example, by submitting a Connect Card or opting into prayer follow-up), the church may associate that information with their prior engagement on that church's pages. We do not record the private text of prayer requests or personal notes in this engagement data. A church controls the data collected on its own pages; Preachly.io processes it on the church's behalf.
Welcome Assistant conversations: If a church enables the Welcome Assistant (an optional AI chat add-on) on its pages, we collect the messages visitors type into the chat and the responses generated — so the assistant can answer, and so the church can see, in aggregate, what visitors are asking. We ask visitors not to enter sensitive personal information into the chat.
Billing information: Payment information is processed and stored securely by Stripe. Preachly.io does not store your credit card details.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Preachly.io service
- To power your public church resource pages
- To display engagement analytics to account holders
- To process subscription payments through Stripe
- To send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications)
We do not sell your data. On Preachly.io's own marketing and account-creation pages, we use limited advertising measurement tools to understand whether our ads lead people to visit Preachly.io, create a workspace, or begin a subscription. We do not use congregation activity on churches' public Preachly pages to build Preachly advertising audiences.
Your Congregation's Privacy
Congregation members who access Preachly.io pages through a shared link or QR code are not required to create an account or provide personal information. By default we recognize a returning device through a random identifier stored on that device — this lets a church understand engagement patterns (such as returning visitors and how they interact) without knowing who anyone is.
A visitor becomes identifiable only if they voluntarily provide their details — for instance by submitting a Connect Card or opting into prayer follow-up. In that case the church may connect the information the visitor gave with their engagement on that church's pages. We do not retain the private text of prayer requests or personal notes as part of this engagement data. The Welcome Assistant chat, if a church enables it, is a further place where visitors may voluntarily type messages — see "Welcome Assistant (AI Chat)" below.
Welcome Assistant (AI Chat)
Some churches enable the Welcome Assistant, an optional AI-powered chat, on their Preachly.io pages. When a visitor uses it:
- The visitor's message is sent to a third-party AI service provider that generates a response on our behalf. We do not permit this provider to use these messages to train its models beyond what is needed to provide the service.
- We store the visitor's questions (and the topic and any page opened) so the church can view aggregated insights into what visitors ask. Messages that appear personal or pastoral are counted but are not shown to the church as readable text.
- If the visitor chooses to message the church, their message is sent to the contact email the church has configured.
- Visitors are not required to sign in or identify themselves, and we ask that they not enter sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or other confidential details) into the chat. Any information a visitor voluntarily provides is handled as described in this policy.
The church controls whether the Welcome Assistant is enabled, what website content it reads, and the contact email that receives messages.
Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure cloud storage, and access controls. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor.
Service Providers
We share data with a small number of trusted providers only as needed to operate Preachly.io:
- Base44 — our application hosting and platform provider, which stores your account, content, and page data and provides the AI processing that powers the Welcome Assistant.
- Stripe — our PCI-compliant payment processor, which handles subscription billing.
- Meta — provides the Meta Pixel on Preachly.io's own marketing and account-creation pages so we can measure visits and conversions from Facebook and Instagram advertising. The Pixel may receive browser and device information, IP address, the page visited, and Meta cookie identifiers. When someone starts a paid trial or makes their first subscription payment, our servers also send Meta that event with its value, a hashed (one-way encrypted) email address, the Meta cookie identifiers, and the browser's user agent. It is not installed on churches' public congregation-facing Preachly pages, and no church content or congregation data is sent.
- Google — provides Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement on Preachly.io's own marketing and account-creation pages so we can understand visits and measure conversions from Google advertising. These tags may receive browser and device information, IP address, the page visited, and Google cookie identifiers. They are not active on churches' public congregation-facing Preachly pages.
We do not sell your data. Advertising measurement is limited to Preachly.io's own customer-acquisition journey as described above.
Data Retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, you may request deletion of your data by contacting us at [email protected].
Your Rights and Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may ask how it is handled, by contacting us at [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor applicable requests and respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders.
